Hi—I’m Laura.

I thrive on working with mission-driven organizations to advance social and environmental causes. My specialties include strategic communications, writing, editing, video production, project management, jargon translation, creative direction, and collaboration.

I currently live in Bend, Oregon, but grew up in Boise, Idaho, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. I’ve backpacked and hiked in much of the western U.S., have visited more than 20 countries, taught English for a time in Argentina, and hold college degrees in writing, photography, and history.

I have years of experience managing and coordinating communications for nonprofit, academic, and government organizations. I've also spent time as a restaurant server, bingo attendant, newspaper deliverer, sandwich maker, and chocolatier. 

I love backpacking to high alpine lakes, traveling to new places, creating short documentary films, making empanadas, and eating anything with marshmallows. Mmmm, marshmallows.
